Lake Stevens homeowner brutally attacked during robbery in his home

(LAKE STEVENS, WA.) -- Lake Stevens Police announced Thursday that a local homeowner had been attacked and badly injured over last weekend by two robbers who got into his home.
Police say in the early morning hours of Sunday, November 5th two men "broke into an unsecured residence in the 800 block of 99th Avenue S," according to a police statement. "The two subjects encountered the 66 year old homeowner in an upstairs bedroom demanding money. When the homeowner was unable to provide money, he was assaulted with a blunt object."
The two robbers then fled the scene leaving the homeowner with "serious head injuries." However he was able to call 911 and first responders treated him at the scene then took him to a local hospital.
Police say the weapon was recovered and sent to the Wash. State Patrol Lab for examination. The case is being investigated by LSPD Investigation Unit.

Violent Home Invasion Last Year In Lake Stevens
On Dec. 29, 2016 there was another violent home invasion incident in Lake Stevens. In that incident three violent home invasion robbers injured an elderly man.
Just before 5:30 am on that Thursday morning Lake Stevens Police responded to a call of a home invasion robbery at an apartment in the Ashley Point Senior Living Community, in the 11000 Block of 20th Street NE in Lake Stevens.
An elderly couple, a 71-year old woman and her 77-year old husband, who has serious health problems, live in the unit.
"Three unknown suspects rang the doorbell and when the female victim answered the door, the suspects forced their way in, knocked the female victim down to the floor and held her there by her hair while the other two suspects moved through the apartment, taking jewelry and small electronics," according to a police statement at the time.
The 77-year old husband was punched in the head by one of the robbers during the robbery. During the event all three robbers were reportedly wearing gloves and had their faces covered.
