Kelso Man Dies In Snohomish County Motorcycle Accident
July 16, 2017

(SNOHOMISH, WA.) -- The State Patrol (WSP) says a Kelso man died in an accident on State Route 9 in Snohomish County.

The crash happened Saturday just before 1:30 pm in the Snohomish, Washington area.

The patrol report says a 2005 Kawasaki V8B motorcycle was south bound on SR 9 when it evidently "failed to see traffic come to a stop southbound" and swerved into the northbound lanes, crossing the double yellow line and crashing into a gray 2007 Toyota Corolla.

The driver of the motorcycle, identified as Richard L. Ruzek, 48, of Kelso, Washington died at the scene.

The driver of the Toyota, identified as Ronald R. Alcorn, 48, of Bothell, Washington was injured and transported to Providence Hospital.

The patrol report says the cause of the accident was "speed too fast for conditions."
