In Bremerton Police Say Navy Man Assigned To USS Nimitz Stabbed Wife To Death Then Committed Suicide
December 15, 2017

(BREMERTON, WA.) -- Bremerton Police say a young Navy sailor assigned to the USS Nimtiz murdered his wife in their home and then took his own life.

On Wednesday of this week just before 7:00 pm police officers were dispatched to 131 N. Marion Avenue on a report of "two people deceased inside the home. Officers arrived and immediately confirmed an adult male and adult female were deceased inside," according to a Bremerton PD statement.

Police say evidence of a violent assault existed, so detectives and crime scene personnel responded to further investigate. Two witnesses who found the dead man and woman were interviewed by detectives who then executed a search warrant for the residence.

The Bremerton Police statement said, "Investigators believe the two victims were married. During the crime scene processing, detectives found the 22-year-old female victim had been stabbed multiple times. Investigators believe after fatally assaulting his wife, the male then hanged himself."

That man was identified only as a 23-year-old Navy Sailor, assigned to the aircraft carrier USS Nimitz. Detectives continue to gather information to try and determine what led up to this extreme and fatal act of domestic violence.

Anyone with information regarding this investigation is urged to contact detectives with the Bremerton Police Department at (360) 473-5228.
