(EVERETT< WA.) -- You know, if you're going to rob a bank, may as well do it with a smile on your face because it can go a long way to help bank employees be less nervous about the ordeal.

Everett Police Detectives would like your help in identifying this fellow, who is believed by the gendarmes to be the man that robbed two Everett area banks.
Busy little fellow, isn't he?
Here's the deal. At about 4:30 p.m. on January 10th, Smiley, the guy you see here, allegedly robbed the Columbia Bank at 11102 Evergreen Way which was not only illegal but impolite as well.
The same smiling fellow is believed to have robbed the Coastal Community Bank branch located at 10520 19th Ave SE at about 4:30 p.m. on January 3rd.
In both cases the perp entered the bank, produced a note demanding money and left the area on footsies...which is faster than leaving the area on, for example, your hands or the tips of your fingers or scooting along the pavement on your bottom.
It is unknown if a vehicle was waiting nearby for Smiley. No weapons were seen or implied in either robbery, which is good for Smiley because when he gets caught (not if) that will be a mark in the "good" column for him during his prosecution.
Smiley is described as a white or Hispanic male, 35-45 years-old, 5’10-6’1 tall, 170-200 pounds, with dark hair and a goatee. He wears a baseball cap and yellow safety-type jacket which is removed upon leaving the bank.
Video surveillance shows the suspect may have a tattoo on his neck.
Anyone with information about the bank robberies or who knows who Smiley is asked to call the Everett Police Department TIP LINE at (425) 257-8450 or Crime Stoppers of Puget Sound at 1-800-222-TIPS.
