(NATIONAL) – A former Seattle Seahawks player, 33-year old Brandon Browner has been charged with attempted murder and other charges following an incident in which he allegedly attacked and robbed an ex-girlfriend.
Browner was charged in Los Angeles Superior Court with attempted murder as well as false imprisonment, two counts of child endangerment, burglary and robbery.
Police claim Browner broke into an ex-girlfriend’s home in LaVerne, California, east of Los Angeles, through a locked window Sunday morning July 8th and once inside physically harmed the woman and made threats to kill the woman. Police say the victim had a restraining order against the former NFL player.
Browner eventually left the residence but allegedly took with him when he left a Rolex watch valued at around $20,000. Browner was arrested within hours of the incident.
Browner signed with the Seattle Seahawks before the 2011 season and was with the team for the Super Bowl in 2013 before he was signed to the New England Patriots in March of 2014.
He came back briefly to the Seahwaks in April 2016 but was released before the regular season.
