'You'll take your place as disgraced demagogue in dustbin of history’

(NATIONAL) -- Former CIA director John Brennan minced no words in going after President Donald Trump for actually celebrating the firing of former Deputy FBI Director Andrew McCabe late last night in a tweet, with a tweet of his own calling the president a “disgrace” to his office.

“When the full extent of your venality, moral turpitude, and political corruption becomes known, you will take your rightful place as a disgraced demagogue in the dustbin of history. You may scapegoat Andy McCabe, but you will not destroy America…America will triumph over you,” Brenna tweeted early Saturday morning.
McCabe was responding to a late night tweet in which Trump wrote these words: “Andrew McCabe FIRED, a great day for the hard working men and women of the FBI – A great day for Democracy. Sanctimonious James Comey was his boss and made McCabe look like a choirboy. He knew all about the lies and corruption going on at the highest levels of the FBI!”
Attorney General Jeff Sessions late Friday night fired McCabe, a little more than 24 hours before McCabe was set to retire. The firing will "likely cost McCabe a significant portion of his retirement benefits, though it is possible he could bring a legal challenge," reported the Washington Post.
McCabe issued his own statement Friday night saying he was targeted for termination because he was a witness in special counsel Robert S. Mueller's investigation into whether the Donald Trump campaign coordinated with Russian players who were out to influence the Presidential election.
