BREAKING NEWS | | FAMILY AND FRIENDS MOURN EX-NBA PLAYER FOUND DEAD July 29, 2010

(NATIONAL) -- Relatives and friends of Lorenzen Wright gathered Wednesday and grieved for the former NBA player who’s been missing for 10 days and as police investigated the discovery of a man's body outside of Memphis.
Wright's uncle, Curtis Wright, told one news service that police called the player's father, Herb Wright, Wednesday afternoon with the news his son had died.
Memphis Police are investigating the death of an unidentified man whose body was found beside a wooded area about 15 miles south of downtown Memphis, but police have not confirmed the ID of the body that was found.
The 34-year-old Wright was last seen July 18 when he was expected to fly out of Memphis. His family filed a missing person report July 22.
One local news report in Memphis says a 911 call made on July 19 from Wright's cell phone recorded loud gunshot blasts from what appeared to be several weapons before the call ended.
Wright recently flew from Atlanta to Memphis to visit friends and his six children, friends of his said. He was last seen at about 2 a.m. July 19, leaving his ex-wife’s home.
His former wife told police she doesn’t know whom he left with or what type of car they were in.
Wright played 13 years in the NBA for the Los Angeles Clippers, Atlanta Hawks, Memphis Grizzlies, Sacramento Kings and most recently the Cleveland Cavaliers with 17 games in the 2008-09 season.
Wright allegedly had financial problems. A Memphis newspaper reported that Wright’s custom-built 17-room mansion in Eads, Tennessee was repossessed in May for $1.3 million, and that his Atlanta house was repossessed in January for $1.1 million.
