East Snohomish County woman hit by car while running across I-5

(MARYSVILLE, WA.) – The Washington State Patrol (WSP) says a Sultan, WA woman was hit by a car and injured while running across Interstate 5 late Sunday night.
The accident happened about 11:45 pm Sunday evening in the Southbound lanes of I-5 just north of SR 528 in Marysville.
The patrol report says a pedestrian was running eastbound across I-5 at milepost 200 while a 2015 Toyota RAV 4 was headed southbound when the Toyota ran into the pedestrian in lane 3.
The body of the pedestrian came to a stop on the shoulder of southbound I-5. The Toyota continued southbound on the freeway, exiting at Exit #199.
The driver called the WSP’s District 7 communications to report “they had struck an unknown object.”
The injured pedestrian was identified as Ashley R. Miller, 25, of Sultan, WA. She was transported to Providence Hospital for treatment.
The driver of the Toyota, a 52-year old man from Auburn, WA was not injured.
The patrol report lists the cause of the accident as “pedestrian running across I-5.”
