Domestic Violence Call in West Seattle Ends in Apparent Suicide
June 16, 2018
(SEATTLE, WA.) – Seattle Police say a man fired shots at a woman’s home in West Seattle on Friday and then apparently fatally shot himself in the Puget Ridge neighborhood.
“A woman called 911 just after 10 a.m. to report her 32-year-old ex-boyfriend showed up to her home in the 6500 block of 16 Avenue Southwest and began firing shots at the house,” said SPD detective Patrick Michaud.
Officers converged on the home and found the woman had escaped to a neighbor’s house. Police began searching her home and the surrounding area. Then around 10:50 a.m someone called 911 to “report they had found a body in a nearby greenbelt.”
Officers responded to that area found the suspect dead “of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.”
Seattle Fire Department medics treated the woman for minor injuries she sustained while running away from her home.
