(KING COUNTY, WA.) – The Washington State Patrol is seeking information on a fatal hit and run collission where a bike rider was killed two days ago.

Just before 2:30 am on February 14 the Milton, Washington Police Department contacted Washington State Patrol (WSP) communications to request assistance with a fatal hit and run collision.

Milton is between Fife and Federal Way in King County.

The death occurred on SR 161 near Military Road shortly after 2:00am. A man in his late 20s was riding a bike SB SR 161 and was struck and killed by an unknown vehicle that fled the scene.

Detectives believe that the bike rider may have been separated from his bike prior to being run over by the unknown vehicle. A tow truck traveling SB SR 161 ran over the bike which had ended up in lane 1, turned around and discovered the rider in lane 2.

Detectives confirmed that the tow truck was not the vehicle that had struck the rider. This is currently being investigated as a Felony Hit and Run.

WSP detectives are seeking any information on this tragic collision to include any vehicles that may have been seen in this area around the time of the incident.

The vehicle most likely will not have any visible damage. If you know anything about the incident please contact Detecive Vik Mauro at (425) 401-7746 or by email at victoria.mauro@wsp.wa.gov.
