Cops search for Uber Eats driver suspected of
killing customer

February 19, 2018

(ATLANTA, GA.) – Police in Atlanta are searching for an Uber Eats driver suspected of shooting and killing a customer Saturday night in the city.

Uber Eats is the ride sharing company’s “food delivery platform” that uses the Uber Eats phone app to connect customers to local restaurants and food so they can order from the full menus of their favorite restaurants whenever they wish to do so.

Police said the fatal shooting happened about 11:30 pm after the victim, a 30-year-old man, placed a food order via his smartphone app.

The victim reportedly “went down to meet the driver, received his order and began walking away from the vehicle," police said and as the victim was walking away, it appears words may have been exchanged between the man and the delivery driver and shots were apparently fired from the delivery vehicle, striking the victim and killing him.

The driver reportedly fled in a white Volkswagen. Police did not release the names of the victim or the suspect.
