A quick stumble, and
then he was dead

(SEATTLE, WA.) – It appears to have been a tragic twist of fate that cost a man his life in Seattle Sunday afternoon. He simply stumbled and fell but at the exact moment a bus was headed his way and where he fell was in the path of that bus.
Detectives from the SPD’s Traffic Collision Investigation Squad (TCIS) are conducting an investigation into the circumstances surrounding a fatality bus/pedestrian collision that occurred just after 4:00 pm Sunday in North Seattle.
At about 4:09 pm a Metro bus was travelling southbound on Aurora Avenue North approaching North 130th Street, according to a police statement. At about the same time, an adult male was walking on the sidewalk just south of 130th Street.
“The pedestrian stumbled and fell into the street just as the bus was pulling into the bus stop. The bus struck the pedestrian causing significant injuries. Seattle Fire Department medics responded to the scene but the victim was declared deceased at the scene,” said the SPD statement.
As is routine, the driver of the bus was evaluated at the scene by a Drug Recognition Expert officer and police say there were no signs of impairment. Southbound Aurora Avenue North was shut down while the investigators conducted their investigation, which remains open.
