80’S TEEN HEARTTHROB ACTOR COREY HAIM
DEAD AT 38

Haim was taken from his mother's North Hollywood home by ambulance to Burbank's Providence St. Joseph Medical Center early this morning, where he died at about 3:40 a.m., according to police Sgt. Frank Albarran.
One published report quotes police sources as saying Haim's mother was with him and called 911 after finding him unresponsive. Haim was 38.
The Canadian-born actor starred in the wildly successful 1987 teen vampire flick "The Lost Boys," but was probably best known for his roles in other pictures with fellow actor Corey Feldman.
As soon as news of Haim’s death broke this morning, celebrities began writing their condolences via Twitter. Here’s what Hollywood is tweeting about Haim’s death:

The death of the 38-year-old actor has renewed the debate of whether an addict can truly "recover," particularly in light of accounts, including Haim's, that he had cleaned up his life and left drugs behind.
Haim struggled with cocaine and Valium addiction and reportedly was admitted to rehab more than 15 times.
Doctors say addiction is a chronic disease like diabetes and there is no guarantee that a person will be “cured" of the disease. Anyone who has been through rehab, they say, can relapse even after many years of being sober.
