Whereas Frank highlighted Republicans' sleight-of-hand success portraying millionaire tax cuts as gifts to the working class, Democrats are now preposterously selling giveaways to insurance and pharmaceutical executives as a middle-class agenda.

On November 6, 2007, the people of Washington State voted in favor of “The Taxpayer Protection Initiative,” commonly called Initiative 960. In addition to requiring , approval of two-thirds of the legislature, it also required every statewide tax measure on a ballot for voters to approve, disapprove or offer an advisory, and mandated that a press release be issued on every meaningful action on bills dealing with taxes and fees.
