A TV TALKING HEAD HAS THE TSA PAT DOWN ISSUE WRONG
By Ken Morse

November 24, 2010

Tuesday night's MSNBC’s “Hardball” - host Chris Matthews implied that Conservatives are outraged over TSA friskings just to hurt Obama politically.

"Matthews: … Generally speaking, the American right wing is pretty tough on law… if a cop wants to stop a guy and frisk him, you’ve never had a problem with that… Ever. Now you have a problem with people being scanned on airplanes. Why is there a big difference?"

LEGISLATOR SAYS WE NEED BETTER STRATEGY, TACTICS TO ELIMINATE BULLYING AND HARASSMENT IN OUR SCHOOLS
By State Rep. Marko Liias, D-Edmonds

November 22, 2010

Your son comes home after school, upset over being harassed and taunted in the hallway, the lunchroom and before and after school. While on the computer, your daughter is struggling to deal with nasty, explicit comments on Facebook.

THE CON JOB THE SUPER RICH HAVE DONE ON THE WORKING STIFF
Oh boo-hoo, woe is us poor rich folk

November 15, 2010

“How can hedge-fund managers who are pulling down billions sometimes pay a lower tax rate than do their secretaries?” ask the political scientists Jacob S. Hacker (of Yale) and Paul Pierson (University of California, Berkeley) in their deservedly lauded new book, “Winner-Take-All Politics.” If you want to cry real tears about the American dream — as opposed to the self-canonizing tears of John Boehner — read this book and weep. The authors’ answer to that question and others amounts to a devastating indictment of both parties." - Frank Rich

Is the bigger issue – bigger than the issue of whether America can afford to borrow $700 billion to give mega-rich folks in Bel-Air tax cuts they do not need – whether America can afford the “systemic damage being done by the ever-growing income inequality between the wealthiest Americans and everyone else, whether poor, middle class or even rich?”

"Unregulated Greed has Destroyed the Capitalist System": The Big Things That Matter And The Little Things That Annoy

October 29, 2010

By Paul Craig Roberts

I write about major problems: the collapsing US economy, wars based on lies and deception, the police state based on “the war on terror” and other fabrications such as those orchestrated by corrupt police and prosecutors, who boost their performance reports by convicting the innocent, and so on. America is a very distressing place. The fact that so many Americans are taken in by the lies told by “their” government makes America all the more depressing.

Often, however, it is small annoyances that waste Americans’ time and drive up blood pressures. One of the worst things that ever happened to Americans was the breakup of the AT&T telephone monopoly.
