 The drumbeat for economic advancement is filled with warnings that our kids must get a college education to get ahead. So it’s instructive to see where those college educations can lead. Take my friend’s son Dale, for example. He’s 28, with a bachelor of arts degree from the University of Washington. He is highly skilled with computers, audio-visual equipment and other technical systems. He’s personable, articulate, and gets along well with almost anyone.

 In my opinion it appears that Chad Minnick, who I have been told is your political consultant, has advised you, Mayor Zimmerman, to break the law.
By law, taxes can only be raised 1% a year without voter approval. I won’t vote to approve a tax increase. Will anyone else?

 To the reader: Dennis Gallagher, now a resident of New Zealand, lived and worked in Monroe and the Monroe area for twenty years. For five of those years he was a member of Monroe’s planning commission.

The plan our community developed for the North Kelsey site was a good example. Our city bought that property expressly to make sure it was developed in a way consistent with values of the development plan.
