To Settle Medicare Overbilling Allegations at 14 Hospitals

(LOS ANGELES, CA.) – Prime Healthcare Services, Inc.; Prime Healthcare Foundation, Inc.; Prime Healthcare Management, Inc.; and Prime’s Founder and chief executive officer, Dr. Prem Reddy, have agreed to pay the United States $65 million to settle allegations that 14 Prime hospitals in California knowingly submitted false claims to Medicare by admitting patients who required only less costly, outpatient care and by billing for more expensive patient diagnoses than the patients had – a practice known as “up-coding.”

State Agency Bans Target Shooting On Most DNR Managed Lands Due To Extreme Fire Danger

(OLYMPIA, WA.) – The State Department of Natural Resources (DNR) announced Friday it is temporary banning all target shooting on 3 million acres of DNR-managed lands, due to the continuing high wildfire danger. The ban includes state forests, community forests, and forested state lands and goes into effect today, Saturday, Aug. 4, 2018.
