(WASHINGTON, DC) — The House of Representatives approved the first major changes to food-safety laws in 70 years on Thursday. The changes give new authority to the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to regulate the way food is grown, harvested and processed.

TWO DIE IN HEAD ON CRASH NEAR MONROE

August 02, 2009

(MONROE, WA) -- Two men were killed early Saturday morning on Highway 522, at milepost 22 west of Monroe, when the car they were in crossed over the centerline and crashed into an oncoming pickup truck. A 26-year-old Everett man who was sitting in the back seat was flown to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle with severe injuries.
