TITANIC’S LAST SURVIVOR DEAD AT 97

LONDON — the last remaining survivor of the 1912 Titanic sinking has died. Millvina Dean, who as an infant aboard the Titanic was lowered into a lifeboat in a canvas mail sack and lived to become the ship’s last survivor, died Sunday at a nursing home in Southampton at the age of 97.

(OLYMPIA, WA) -- The Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) reminds drivers that U.S. Highway 2 from Leavenworth to 9 miles west of Leavenworth at the Tumwater Campground will be closed to traffic starting at 7:44 pm tonight June 1st until 6:00 am June 26th on weekdays due to paving operations from milepost 90 to milepost 101.
