(MONROE, WA) -- Ah, itís a dogís life when the boss of the house takes off the leash and letís Fido run like the wind amidst the cool, green grass of summer. After a year of planning the city of Monroe celebrates the opening of its new off-leash dog park, Wiggly Field, this Saturday July 19 at Sky River Park at 413 Sky River Parkway. The opening celebration is from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m.

MONROE MONITOR FOUND IN VIOLATION OF PUBLIC DISCLOSURE LAW

(MONROE, WA) -- The Washington State Public Disclosure Commission has ruled the Monroe Monitor newspaper, and the paperís publisher Ken Robinson, violated state law in a long-standing Election 2007 campaign complaint.

LEAN TIMES AHEAD FOR MONROE

(MONROE, WA) -- It seems almost certain that lean times are head for the city of Monroe. Like many other cities through out the region and country facing budget deficits due to the home mortgage market collapse, credit crunch and soft economy Monroe faces some robust slashes in spending to deal with a projected $1 Million dollar budget shortfall by the end of this year; a figure that could reach $2 Million dollars by the end of 2009 if reductions in spending in the cityís general fund account are not made in a timely fashion.
