(SEATTLE/EVERETT, WA) – At last count some five schools in Western Washington will be closed today – some possibly for up to a week – due to the number of possible H1N1 (swine flu) cases in the state. At last count that number was 13 cases.

(DETROIT, MI) -- In yet another sign the struggling U.S. auto industry is a long ways from ending its financial and sales challenges General Motors officials told dealers in a video conference yesterday that GM will thin out some 1,000 to 1,200 under- performing dealerships from the GM family of authorized retailers by 2010 as part of its reorganization effort to avoid bankruptcy.
