STORM FRONTS MAY BRING MAJOR FLOODING TO SKY VALLEY TODAY

(SKY VALLEY) -- The first inkling that heavy rains caused by storm systems were going to cause problems in the Sky Valley and other locations near rivers in Western Washington came just after 6:00 a.m. this morning when the National Weather Service issued flood warnings that projected near 2006 record flood levels in the Skykomish-Snohomish river basin.

MAJOR FLOODING EXPECTED!

(WESTERN WA) -- The National Weather Service issued a FLOOD WATCH for possible heavy flooding on rivers in the Sky Valley and general Snohomish county area at 4:19 a.m. this morning. The flood watch remains in effect from 4:00 p.m. this afternoon through Late Wednesday evening.

(UPPER SKY VALLEY) -- Some folks feared a repeat this week of the great flood of two years ago when heavy rains and warm temperatures hit Snohomish County on Thursday. To some, the general weather conditions this year felt eerily similar to November 6, 2006 when rivers across Western Washington neared or exceeded record flows and evacuations were ordered in a handful of cities and neighborhoods.
