(MOORE, OKLAHOMA) -- As dusk turned to darkness Monday evening in Moore, Oklahoma and darkness turned to dawn Tuesday the search continued in the rubble for survivors of one of the worst tornadoes ever to hit the region.

By Monday evening the Oklahoma Medical Examiner's Office had confirmed a total of 51 fatalities but as emergency crews in Moore continued the search Tuesday for tornado survivors, the the medical examiner lowered the known death toll from 51 to 24, saying bodies had been counted twice in the chaos after the storm hit.
