(REGIONAL) -- In light of the raging wildfires in eastern Washington and extremely challenging weather conditions, State Fire Marshal Chuck Duffy is urging residents to inspect and maintain the "defensible space" around their homes.
(GOLD BAR, WA) -- Bah-dah-bing, bah-dah-boom. Or alternately, BOOM! as you will hear in a loud canon shot fired by Civil War reenactors at Gold Bar's annual community festival Gold Dust Days which get underway today for a three-day run July 25, 26 and 27.
If you want to step back in time and expose your kids to some authentic American history and have fun while doing it - not to mention seeing some really cool guns, knives, sabers, canons, those old cap n' ball pistols and black powder rifles from the 1800's, oil lamps, old time kettles simmering beans on a campfire, period accurate clothing and more - you need to take them to the Civil War reenactors site at Gold Dust Days.
