(SEATTLE, WA.) – Seattle Police Detectives are investigating a brutal home invasion robbery that occurred Tuesday afternoon in South Seattle.
In that robbery a 71-year-old woman was shot in the shoulder and pistol-whipped by the robbers.
Police say shortly before 4 pm Tuesday officers responded to a residence in the 10700 block of Renton Avenue South on a report of a home invasion robbery. Seattle Fire also responded and transported the injured woman to Harborview Medical Center for treatment.
Police say it was two young men that burst into the home. The first suspect is described as a light-skinned black male in his late teens, about six feet tall, wearing a white jacket and white pants and armed with a black handgun.
The second robber was described as also a light-skinned black teen, about 5’6″ tall, skinny, wearing a blue jacket and dark pants. This suspect has a mustache. They were last seen running southbound from the house.
K-9 teams were searching for the men Tuesday. Police did not say if that house was targeted by the robbers or was chosen at random.
