(ISSAQUAH, WA.) – Officials say a 30-year-old man from Colorado lost his life Monday afternoon in a bad accident on State Route 18 near Issaquah. It shut down both lanes of the highway for about six hours.

The state patrol report says the crash happened about 4:30 pm just east of the Issaquah-Hobart Road exit.

A black 2005 Dodge Magnum was headed eastbound on SR18 and a large, white 2010 Freightliner tractor & trailer was westbound on the same road when for reasons unknown, the Dodge crossed the center line and crashed into the big Freightliner, coming to a stop in the eastbound lanes.

The big commercial truck came to a stop across all lanes of the highway.

Killed by the impact was the driver of the Dodge identified as 30-year old Patrick N. Saylor of Wheat Ridge, Colorado.

The driver of the Freightliner, identified as Wade E. Fenley, 41, of Greensburg, Indiana was injured and taken to Swedish Hospital.

Both the Freightliner and the Dodge were totaled by the impact. The patrol report says the cause of the crash is unknown and it was also not known if drugs and/or alcohol were contributing factors.
