Billionaire Warren Buffet, who says that tax reform bill passed by the GOP controlled congress should be called 'Relief For The Rich Act.'
(NATIONAL) -- There's a lot of rich folks, right wing news media and Wall Street types that simply despise self-made billionaire Warren Buffet. They wish guys like him would take a slow boat to China and just disappear.
That's because Buffet tells it like it is, not how some Republican PR handout or ten-second TV sound bite wants you to believe it is.
Thus if you think the recently passed "tax reform" bill by Republican lawmakers was all about helping you and yours, allow billionaire Buffet to disabuse you in short order of that very silly and naive notion.
Here's a link to a July interview with PBS News Hour where Buffet says without hesitation that this terrible swamp-gas like bill concocted and passed by a Republican controlled Congress - the worst legislation in 30 years in this country - was designed as a gift to help rich guys like him.
There's another thing Buffet mentions that mainstream newsies seem to avoid. That is that members of Congress, many of whom are millionaires and multi-millionaires themselves, have feathered their own beds quite nicely with this bill.
Why else do you think they were all just giddy like school kids with those big wide Cheshire cat smiles during that photo op with President Trump yesterday?
This horribly unpopular tax cut for the rich bill (most Americans think it stinks and reeks of welfare-for-the-rich which is what Buffet explained) will add a brutal $1.4 trillion to the national debt which, down the road gives Republicans the excuse they need to say they must cut your Social Security payments, Medicaid, Medicare and the rest of the social safety nets that real, non-millionaire Americans depend upon.
They will say they need to cut those programs in order to bring "fiscal" sanity and responsibility back to government.
And finally, this New York Times piece here pretty much proves it's not even possible to be too cynical about this sham Republican tax bill.
