Johanknecht widens lead in race for King County Sheriff over Urquhart For Snohomish Mayor Kartak maintains lead over Guzak November 09, 2017

(SEATTLE, WA.) -- As of Wednesday at 3:45 pm, when more ballots from Tuesday's election were tallied, challenger Mitzi Johanknecht had slightly increased her lead over incumbent John Urquhart for the job of King County Sheriff.
Johanknecht had 52.6% of the votes counted to Urquhart's 47.3%.
Urquhart, a lawman for over 40 years is completing his first term as King County Sheriff.
Johanknecht, a 32-year veteran of law enforcement is a Major in the sheriff's office. In 2013 she campaigned for Urquhart.
In the race for Mayor of the city of Snohomish, challenger John Kartak maintained a slight lead yesterday with more votes counted, 50.8% of the votes to incumbent Karen Guzak's 48.8%.
