Shots fired, stadium at Mariner High School evacuated
September 15, 2018

(EVERETT, WA.) – At 9:37 pm Friday night, the first word came from the Snohomish County Sheriff’s office: ”Responding to Mariner High School for reports of an altercation between juveniles in the parking lot. Reports of possible shots fired. No reported injuries. Stadium being evacuated. 4th Ave closed for evidence investigation.”

Later the sheriff’s office said that the school’s resource officer had first responded to the parking lot of the high school and “heard 5-6 shots fired nearby by an unknown suspect. There have been no identified victims or reported injuries as a result of the shots fired.”

The football stadium at Mariner High School was evacuated and there was one report of a minor leg injury during the evacuation.

Fourth Ave West was closed for a short time during the investigation. The sheriff’s office added that “multiple casings were recovered in the 12200 block of 4th Ave W. This is still an active investigation.”
