Two injured in Clark County when ‘wrong way’ driver crashes head-on into another car
August 12, 2018

(VANCOUVER, WA.) – The Washington State Patrol says a ‘wrong way’ driver injured himself and another driver when he crashed his vehicle head-on into another car on a highway in Clark County.

Clark County is in the far southwest corner of the state and lies right across the Columbia River from Portland, Oregon.

The WSP report says the crash occurred about 1:00 am Sunday (this) morning westbound on State Route 500 just east of Andresen Road in Vancouver, WA.

The report says a silver 2000 Honda Accord sedan entered the westbound SR500 highway going the “wrong way” from the Andresen Rd. off ramp, while a black 1998 Toyota Camry sedan was headed westbound on the same road when the Honda crashed head-on into the Toyota. Both vehicles were totaled on impact.

Injured and taken to Peacehealth Southwest Medical Center were:

The driver of the Honda identified as 36-year old Dang M. Nguyen of Vancouver, Washington and the driver of the Toyota, identified as 23-year old Henry L. Pham of Washhougal, Washington.

The patrol report lists the cause of the accident as “wrong way on divided highway” and that charges are “pending investigation.”
