This report was first published the morning of 11/1/17 in the Breaking News column

(SNOHOMISH, WA.) -- An adult family home near Snohomish has been shut down by the Department of Social and Health Services after investigators alleged caregivers at the home did not administer prescribed medication, including morphine and OxyContin, for months at a time to residents who needed it, according to a report by KIRO-TV in Seattle.

The station said a reporter talked with the daughter of a resident at the home who was given Tylenol instead of stronger painkillers after a major surgery and according to DSHS one resident was denied pain meds for a serious ulcer.

A local newspaper report said hundreds of doses of painkillers went missing from the home, called Country Care, on 81st Place SE, according to a report by DSHS.

The owner of the home, Colleen Crawford, said she plans to appeal the findings, which she said were lies, according to the newspaper report.
