Skykomish Holiday Market Is This Weekend
November 18, 2016
(SKYKOMISH, WA.) -- If you're from out of town visiting the area or live anywhere in the Puget Sound region and you're looking to experience a quintessential, small town holiday event in the foothills of the mighty Cascade mountains, this weekend is your chance.

The annual Skykomish Holiday Market in Malony’s General Store will open the season in the historic railroad community of Skykomish in the upper Sky Valley this Saturday Nov. 19 from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm.
You'll find a full house of Sky Valley's artistic vendors who bring a wide selection of handmade wares for your holiday shopping consideration -- from cards and prints by local artists, flower arrangements in gourds and hand knits by the Skykomish Knotty Knitters (the KK's).
There's also a variety of sewn items, various styles of jewelry, soy candles, garden art and much more.
It's a fun event for the whole family and a place where you can combine having a great time with "buying American" for the holidays, supporting local artists and the local economy as a whole with your dollars.
Back by popular demand this year is some down home, feel-good blue grass music with the Hidin’ in the Hills trio consisting of guitar, mandolin and banjo.
The group performs from 12:30 pm to 2:00 pm. It's a great way to spend an early winter Saturday afternoon as well as find that special gift for family members and friends.
An anniversary party in December
The KK's will have their 6th annual anniversary party in December. The group meets weekly and has knit many items for charities over the years, most recently wee blankets for preemies for Children’s Hospital.
Every year the group also creates a gift basket of hand knit items for the school’s PTSO auction/raffle.
